There is a new Physiotherapist in Bath.
Dan Chen is the founder and owner of Freedom Physiotherapy in Bath, Ontario. Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Dan began his journey to Bath with a stop at the University of Alberta. There Dan studied Immunology and Infection, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2007. Once Dan arrived in Ontario he continued his studies at Queen’s University where he graduated in 2009 with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. After graduating, Dan worked as a Therapist in Napanee at Lyle Hamilton Physiotherapy. Here he honed his skills before starting to plan his own business Freedom Physiotherapy.
Dan is a member of and licensed by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. Physiotherapists are regulated by the College to ensure ongoing improvement of the practice and to protect and serve the public interest. This means the College protects patients’ rights to safe, competent and ethical care. They also help to maintain the standards of practice of the profession and holding Physiotherapists accountable for their conduct and practice.
Dan and his wife Jody, also a Physiotherapist, have opened Freedom Physiotherapy at 363 Main Street in Bath. When asked why they established a practice in Bath? Dan had this say.
“Many of the clients I saw in Napanee were from the Bath area and I realised there was a lack of Physiotherapy services in Bath. The only available service involved a drive to Napanee, Amherstview or even Kingston. These are inconveniently located at best and an unwelcome drive if the weather is not cooperating. I recognized the need and the opportunity here in Bath”.
Dan went on to elaborate on the services being offered at Freedom Physiotherapy.
“We are offering a full service Physiotherapy Clinic by providing the following”.
- Manual Therapy
- Soft Tissue Release
- Exercise Prescription
- Vestibular Rehab
- Postural and Kinesio Taping
- Interferential Current
“Physiotherapy is a collaborative treatment developed through consultation and examination between the client and myself. There are no quick fixes; problems may be caused by a lifetime of seemingly normal activity, which can manifest as a physical imbalance causing pain. Often times the effects of aging are believed to be the root cause of pain and this is simply not the case. In many cases minor adjustments in lifestyle, posture and/or corrective exercises can be beneficial. Keep an open mind and come in for an assessment!”
“If you have private insurance the cost will most likely be covered. All treatment not covered by private insurance can be claimed as a medical expense on your Income Tax Return. At this time we are unable to accept OHIP, WSIB or MVA cases”.
