Their Soup and Sandwich fundraiser runs every Monday from late October through to the end of April. They offer two types of soup and a range of freshly made sandwiches, served up with a friendly smile and a warm welcome.
All of the food items are donated by the congregation, prepared by the capable volunteers and served with enthusiasm.
Over the winter they usually collect about $1,000 a month which is donated to help with the upkeep and maintenance of St Johns Hall and the church.
“It’s not just about the money” said Rev. Bram Pearce “This is a community outreach service, a way to engage with the community, to enjoy fellowship and share good food with friends and neighbours. There are too many dedicated volunteers to name individually so please accept a collective and heartfelt thank you from myself and from your many satisfied customers. Thank you all for your dedication and service to the community.”
Nothing will dampen the spirits of the good folks who provide Monday Lunch at St Johns Hall. The weather may be awful but the warm welcome is always there. Come in for good cheer and a hearty lunch.
Menu will vary each week.
