When was the last time you tuned in to the radio? Did you know that we have our very own community radio station located on Amherst Island?

CJAI-FM, known on air as Amherst Island Radio, is our local radio station located in Stella, Ontario, Canada. Broadcasting at 92.1 FM, the station airs a community radio format serving the Loyalist Township and Kingston region.

Amherst Island Radio has broadcast on 92.1 FM from our milk-house studios located on Amherst Island for eleven years. Our transmitter serves Amherst Island, Bath, Picton and Napanee to Kingston.

We take pride in our all-volunteer staff and our community partners. You won’t find mainstream broadcasting here. What you will find, however, is an eclectic collection of shows and music, with many live shows and lots of Canadian-based and local content. We love to promote local special events, organizations or community groups, simply contact us with the details and we’ll spread the word at no charge.

We’ve become one of the best community radio stations in Canada largely because of YOU! Don’t forget that we are always looking for new volunteers! Join us!

The station is 100% volunteer-run and 100% non-profit, and is the only Canadian broadcast station located in a barn. Funding of the station comes through donations, sponsorships, and fundraising events.

Musical content on Amherst Island Radio is approximately 60 per cent Canadian content and spans numerous genres: bluegrass, country, folk, rock, alternative rock, blues, jazz, classical, etc. Volunteers produce spoken word programming and several times per week local bands and special guests entertain listeners with in-studio performances/appearances. The diversity of programming is a reflection of the listeners in the station’s broadcasting area. Amherst Island Radio is a member of the National Campus and Community Radio Association.
